Forte S 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 70,000 miles

Kia is a joke!! They are lying POS car manufacturers. I bought my Kia and was so proud I paid for it up front and now I'm kicking myself and never again will get another Kia. My car lost complete driving capabilities and they're lucky I wasn't hit as this happened in the fast lane of the freeway after no warning at all . Now my car is undrivable and wont shift info drive or reverse and rpm run high Kia had my car for 3 months never gave me a rental or anything they made me lose my job because of this POS transmission that the dealer after 3 months denied is broken claiming it was my wiring harness which is not true.

Now I'm stuck a year later with a broken car that for 1 I can't even renew the registration because of the recalls due to the kids stealing kias now I need an update on my computer but car needs to drive properly in order for that so I'm stuck in a non ending loop of bs from Kia about everything that has to do with my car I'm beyond frustrated and for them to do this knowingly selling faulty cars they should be ashamed of themselves..

This was the first issue with the car, and unfortunately it happened on the way home during the holiday weekend. With the car disabled almost 500 miles away from home, I had to book a hotel for the weekend and wait until Monday to get the vehicle inspected. Kia roadside assistance handled the towing, and after a 3 hours at the out of state dealership, they informed me of the bad news and that I would get a rental car to resume the rest of my trip while they waited for a replacement transmission.

Lucky for me, I just returned from a long trip from Nova Scotia to Ontario. Glad I made it. I bought that car as a rehabilitee. That did not work.

Forte EX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,321 miles

Car is less than one year old. The transmission started acting strange at first, the rpms were revving up and down on its own even without toughing the accelerator at high speed. Shortly after, the transmission failed while driving on the highway and the car lost all power and speed. Very dangerous!

Forte S

This is the 2nd transmission. The first time it was replaced the day it turned 5000 miles. It just won't go in low gears & then it clunks and everything is fine.

Forte EX Launch Edition 2.0L 4 cyl

I am disappointed that at such a low mileage and being a new vehicle, it had to have a new transmission replacement.
