Purchased car in August of 2019 from a private seller. Car makes loud knocking, ticking, grinding noise from 2010 Kia Forte EX 2.0 Theta II engine. Also has no horn that works, it is not the fuses. Driver's side power window is defective. Stalls in traffic. Transmission slips. Skid control does not function. Has 140,000 miles now.

Forte Koup EX 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 124,274 miles

I purchased this car in February of 2019. I loved the car from the moment I seen it but soon noticed a loud tick in the engine. I started having a problem around April where the car wouldn't start unless I stepped on the gas as it was starting. That happened for about 2 months but has now gone away. This past week I noticed the car having trouble accelerating and the ticking is really loud. I'm worried as I just bought the car and have no money to pay for a new engine or new car as I'm in university.

Forte Koup EX 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 99,419 miles

in cold start, big noise from the motor, can stay for 10 min

kia know the problem because they put a new model when customers have bad motors... when its on guarantee, the things is that, kia dealers always say that the noise is normal...so nobody go to the garage to inspect the cylinders with a camera inside to see the damage... why Kia keep ignored this problem... its a common problem on all kia motor 2.0 between 2010 and 2012. 2 garage Kia told me that and they gave me the new motor model : 259Y22GH00FFF. The original one model is: 593801. So, if they install a new model that stop the noise... that mean, they know it...
