Chronic electrical issues in this 2011 Kia Forte Koup SX model have lately lead up to the entire entertainment AND HANDS FREE system dash module just dying for no apparent reason or cause.
CD, Radio, MP3, USB - the whole unit refuses to power up at all despite checking the fuses and basic wiring etc etc. The dash trim lights up and still looks nice at night (forehead slap here)
Only fix seems to be going to a wrecking yard and swapping in a completely different one from same model year then hope it works (Approx cost $200 CDN pesos IF you know what you are doing or get a new replacement unit at dealership price$$ PLUS labor to put the dang POS in {of course all not covered by KIA warranty})
NOTE I have driven 30 year old farm trucks with rusted out floors that still have a working sound system! Double Grrrrrr!
This is only one of several electrical issues I have dealt with on this car that I will address later here.
