Headlights turned completely off while making a turn on a country dark road. Very dangerous situation but no incident occurred.

Then while driving in the early morning on interstate the headlights and dash lights would flicker on and off as if I were flashing my headlights at someone. Seems to have something to do with the turn signal stalk as it always happens when I activate my turn signal in either direction.
