When I bought the car it had about 87,000 miles on it. A month later, it had a problem and the repair was made while it was sitting in my parking space: a crankshaft position sensor. The car never moved from the spot. The next time I started it, the mileage had gone to about 89,000+!!
Thereafter, when running, the mileage will just add miles, for instance if I drive 50 miles the odometer will put on about 400. It is probably part of the same general set of electrical-type issues that it has (dim headlights and stuff like that). I love the car, it's wonderfully comfortable, but it does have its issues for sure. I've had it 10 months and the mileage is now almost 100K from this problem!
