The head lamps in my wife's car are terrible, you cant see 10 feet in front of the car, and if it was not for the running lamps would not see that far. KIA dealer say that there is no issue and been reported a couple of times. I have even replaced the bulbs and No Luck. What a POS, and other that that my wife loves her Optima.

My low beams had always been excellent. Then, after the engine replacement, I noticed one of the headlights wasn't as "bright" as usual. I shrugged it off, thinking the technician may have bumped it somehow during engine swap. But as weeks went by, both headlights became increasingly dimmer to the point that I cannot drive the car at night without having the brights on. This is crazy that I can't even see 20 feet in front of my car and that when someone is behind me their light make my cars shadow appear on the vehicle in front of me.
I have tried replacing bulbs and adjusting the lamps but there's no change at all. Driving with the brights off is so dangerous that I have hit massive pot holes and ended up repairing one wheel and buying new tires twice now. I am hearing that this is due from a manufacturer defect in the headlight assembly somewhere behind the bulb. Reflective material is getting hot and won't let the headlight reflect properly. Kia, I absolutely love my SXL but please do the right thing and correct this obvious defect before someone gets seriously hurt or killed from a driver not being able to see what's in front of them.
