problem #2

Optima LX V6

I was notified of the gas leak recall in April and have been without a car since. Kia says there is no remedy yet so there is nothing they can do for now. The cost of the job they say is $750. I don’t have that kind of money laying around! I have 5 kids! Kia dealerships are trash and don’t care about any of their customers! This is a shame! I’m so lost for words and don’t know what to do going forward.

Optima LX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission

The problem started about two days ago. I could smell the faint smell of gas. The next day the car did not want to crank and the smell of gas was stronger. When I took the car to the shop, the mechanic called me back and said I was blessed to be alive because the car could have blown up on me. The only sign I received was the smell of gas through the vents but had no idea that each time I cranked the car could have been my last. This wasn't the first time something tragic could have happened (creating a separate complaint) I want to warn all the Kia drivers to please take the littlest sign seriously and please get your car checked before something tragic happens.
