Optima EX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

I was driving down the interstate. All of the sudden my check engine light came in. My car lost pressure. I pressed the accelerator all the way to the floor nothing happened. I was scared for my life that someone would hit me. I got off at the nearest exit. I eventually made it home going on the back road. It took Kia 2 weeks to get to my car. When they finally got to my car, they told me it was in limp mode / knock sensor. I was glad to find out it was under the recall. They didn't fix it🤬🤬. They only updated my system and told me to call them if and when my check engine light come back on.

Dec 2018 got a Recall called Production Improvement Campaign. I had the recall completed at Big Red Kia in Norman OK in Dec 26, 2018. On March 2nd 2019, the car went into limp mode and I followed the instruction per Kia Motor Group to have it towed to the nearest dealer. I was told it was a wiring Harness and Knock.

April 19, 2019 I picked up my car only to get it a few miles and then returned it due to the Check Engine Light started blinking again and it went into Limp Mode. I was told they had ordered the wrong Wiring Harness and would order the correct one.

May 3, 2019 I picked up my car and it seemed to be okay until May 14th when the Check Engine Light came on and went into Limp Mode, so I returned to Bob Moore Kia. On Aug 1, 2019 picked up my car and this time they said they changed the Knock Sensor. My car was good until Oct 17, 2019 when again the Check Engine Light came on and it went into Limp Mode, my care again is a Bob Moore Kia.

I have a case with Kia Motor, they have assigned me a person named Melissa and she has all but told me to deal with someone to trade or report as a Lemon, she asked me what I wanted and when I said to help me get this traded without being upside down since was in shop and will never get what I should for it and she said it is up to me to deal with a dealer.

I would like to say Bob Moore has been very kind to me and have provided me a loaner every time. I also called Kia 10/25/19 and was told they are putting my car on the back burner and it seems that they are not in any hurry to help me get it fixed, the only thing I can say is I do have a loaner to drive.

I have talked to a Lawyer for the Lemon Law and was told since this is a recall there is nothing they can do to help me with Lemon Law.
