Optima Hybrid EX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

At highway speeds, the steering wheel seems to "stick" and it is very difficult to keep the car going straight down the road. I told the dealer about it when i took it in for service. They said they checked it and didnt find anything.

They said it may be the alignment. I told the service writer when I took it in I had already had the alignment checked. They said it was fine and maybe it was the tires. I even went and bought new tires, which didn't help. After some internet searching, it seems to be a very big problem with this model of car and there are a lot of complaints about this. I feel this very unsafe and could cause an accident. I asked the dealer if they took it out and drove it, he said they took it about 12 miles round trip, but when I picked the car up, it only had one more mile on it than when I left it. I did call the KIA consumer support line and the guy I spoke with said he would check into it, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Maybe if there are enough complaints, they will come up with some way to fix it. I sure am glad I don't have to drive a lot on the highway. KIA, please address this problem!
