When my car won't start, I called AAA service, the tech guy said that the battery is dead so I had him replaced it for over $200. The next day, my car won't start again so I called AAA again. The tech guy said that it's the battery! But the battery is new so he replaced the battery for free thinking that I might have been given a bad battery. Two days later, the won't start again so the AAA tech advised me to have the car checked. So I brought it to the KIA dealership. The KIA tech guy said that it's the battery! They said that the AAA battery that I bought is no good and the car needed a stronger battery. So for $165 inspection fee + the battery, I paid a little over

$400.00...for the darn battery!

The week after, I did not use the car for a day. The next day it won't start again! I brought it the KIA dealership again and asked them to check it again. After over a week, I got got a little frustrated because after 2 calls, they said that they have to call the KIA engineer for help because they can't find the problem. After 2 days, I called again and the gal that I talked to said that they are waiting for the parts. That was a Friday and she told me to call back again after 3 days being it is a weekend. Monday came and I received a phone call from KIA saying that the problem is the FUSE and it will cost me $1000 for the parts plus the labor because I'm out of warranty!

My car is a 2017 KIA Optima Plug-in and barely 50K miles but it's been 5 years and 4 months since I bought it. I hardly use it during the Covid season which is almost 1.5 years!

It's ridiculous! NEVER WILL BUY ANOTHER KIA if they don't fix this! I'm wondering if KIA knows about this problems that will happen because they discontinued making this line.
