wow, how this car got so much praise. I almost believed it for a while too. I bought it second hand from a guy leaving the country, thought I had a steal $3,500.00 bucks whooeee! It drove great for the first 5 months, good on gas, speedy little thing, easy parking and looked brand new. then one day it's like it caught a bad cough and cold that wouldn't go away. Filled her up with gas and headed to work. 5 mins away from the station, it started losing power, then jerking like the life was being choked out of it. almost gave me whiplash. I thought the car was possessed. the engine ran rough and loud and just kept cutting off every few seconds. I managed to get to work, but it turned what would be a 25 min. ride into an hour and a half ride. I thought it might have been bad gas, but 4 days later and full tank of gas from another station- she's still choking like a chicken. don't have the money to fix it right now but she has ok days then crappy days. If I don't push her too hard, I might get a good 6-10 mins. out of her before she starts her dance. I have a 92 Geo Tracker in the shop that did the same exact thing... I think I'm gonna have to get used to the bus... lol.

When I bought this car it was used it had 50,000 miles on it one owner from the time I got the car it ran like s---! I had spark plug and wires replaced 6 times and that still didn't help it might would run about a month then I would have to do it again then I was taking it back to have some recalls that I had found on the internet for this car type and model when it stopped completely in the middle of a busy interstate road and me and my children was put in danger of being killed. we had to push the car out of the road and get a tow-tuck to pull it to the Kia place then they said they wouldn't do the recalls cause the car wouldn't work because it jumped timing WHAT? I have had this thing serviced and the diagnostic test done each time and they said it showed a miss fire in the spark plug wires Why did this not show up this car is a piece of s_ _ _!

I bought a kia rio based on the warranty and good reviews only to find it was more of a pain in the ass then buying an older vehicle. Just to find out what is wrong with the car it costs 200$-maybe an exaggeration but not far off-i have had to replace plugs more then most-my timing belt went which seized the whole motor-so i had to replace the motor-it has never run properly-always not kicking into gear when it should-always have had a rough sound and rough run-had to replace the altenator again short lived-this car is the worst car on the market-of course my personal opinion cause i haven't owned any other cars but i will NEVER set my ass in another kia of any kind-i will take my chances next time elsewhere and all the dealerships say"i don't know what to tell you" or "no thats the way it runs" i am soooooo sick of it and i thought buying new would be better-well kia you sure got one on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car actually DIES in traffic.... I kept thinking it was idle set wrong, since it runs rough as well.... Well it wasnt.... And the WONDERFUL state of Arkansas has NO LEMON LAW.... We bought our car used and as I was driving out of the dealership from signing the papers, it died in the turn lane!!! I turned right back around and they said it was a loose battery cable... It still does it, a year later

The engine has an intermittent split-second loss of power that the dealer can't fix. After five failed attempts to repair the problem, we are now pursuing a Lemon Law resolution—preferably forcing the manufacturer to repurchase the vehicle.
UPDATE: The dealer was unable to fix the problem, so I contacted the Lemon Law Division of the Washington State Attorney General's Office. After becoming well-informed of what I was legally entitled to, I contacted Kia with a request for repurchase (they buy the car back from me for the original price minus a use fee based on mileage). Initially, they played kinda dumb, offering me way less than what I was entitled to. But once I made it clear I knew the law, they pleasantly gave me every penny! I was very satisfied. Now I own a new Subaru Forester.

Ok, when I first purchased this car, it did have some issues with it prior to me driving it, and was under warranty, however, the dealership never bothered to fix these problems,(the name of the dealership is Chambersburg Affordables). So, I fixed these myself, and then the car would stall occasionally, every now and again, however on last Tuesday, 6/26/12, the care totally stopped dead in the middle of traffic, and then I could not get it to start back up, I have missed 5 days of work as a result and do not think this is even fair to me. I had to miss work and got fired from job because of it, this is not fair to the consumer and something should really be done about it.
