The A/C line draines onto the front subframe. Doing this I believe has caused it to rust over the years. Now it is not safe to drive for fear that the engine or front control will bring the car to a halt. It may cause a serious accident

The contact owns a 2007 Kia Rondo. The contact stated that the vehicle was slanted to the left when steering the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an alignment and it was discovered that the entire subframe was rusted. The contact was advised not to drive the vehicle for safety reasons. The contact sent a picture of the damage to the manufacturer who advised her to tow the vehicle to jeffrey Kia (30800 gratiot ave, roseville, mi 48066, (586) 460-7061). The dealer diagnosed that the subframe needed to be replaced along with other possible repairs after the subframe was removed. The manufacturer stated that there was an unknown recall for the 2015 models regarding the rust. The manufacturer stated that they would not cover the repair costs and would tow the vehicle back to the independent mechanic to perform the repairs. The failure mileage was 93,000.

2/26/18 replaced exhaust at Firestone. 4/18 car making noise both front and back, felt like something was about to fall out; shaking through the floor boards. Taken to andy's service where he found engine cradle rusted. New part would cost $500 plus labor. Called South hills Kia service and dropped car off on 4/26/18 to establish cost of repair/new vehicle. Service manager matt gave me # for Kia consumer 800-333-4542. Eric took info and case #12707877 and escalated to regional office. On 5/1/18 received call from bruce 520-770-4888 and said according to district manager, car surpassed 60,000 mile warranty. S.H. Kia to write estimate as to repair cost. Also found left coil spring broken $251.99 cost of repair. Told him I was waiting to hear from regional office about cradle before I would consider fixing anything. Bruce also said that he could not give me a written refusal to cover engine cradle, and that Kia dealership would provide that information. Spoke with matt on 5/2/18 about this refusal and he did not seem to be able to come forth with such. Notified NHTSA/nakila who took my information and told me to call pa attorney generals office and provide information to them. Called S.H. Kia and left voice mail message with matt regarding 2012 recall #12V014000 airbag clock spring assembly and to verify it had been done and if not to complete fix. S.H. Kia did take photo of underside of car to submit to Kia regional and I will forward this on to you. The noise on this current problem was noticed more when driving, turning, on regular street than while idling. In my estimation this vehicle is not safe to drive for fear parts may come loose while driving and cause serious accident not only to myself but to other drivers that may be behind me.

To whom it may concern, on approximately, Sunday, August 10, 2014, I was driving my 2007 Kia Rondo and a man hit my bumper due to the fact he could not see my brake lights (due to the manufacturer's recalled parts; NHTSA campaign numbers: 13V114000 and 09V130000). I was unaware of the recalled product until yesterday, February 1, 2015, when I was doing a google search. This whole situation has really frightened me because I am essentially driving a ticking time bomb. The brake lights are out, and the red "air bag" light is on (therefore determining that the air bags do not work; NHTSA campaign number: 12V014000), and the yellow "ESC off" light is on, and does not go off. I have to continuously pop open the hood to reconnect the battery every other time attempt to turn the car on. I am a Monday-Friday 9-5 working 19 year old living on his own, and I am living to paycheck to paycheck. I am simply unable to pay for the damages due to the engineering by the manufacturer, and I am praying I will receive some type of compensation so I can have a reliable car for my daily life. Kind regards, a 2007 Kia Rondo owner
