Rondo EX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,137 miles

While driving my 2012 Kia Rondo EX through wet conditions, on 3 separate occasions I experienced sudden loss of power steering, power brakes and could hear a loud squealing sound. Warning lights appeared for the brake and battery/charging system. Engine remained running and the radio still functioned. Turning the car off and then restarting it seemed to resolve the issue. Thankfully I was not driving on the highway in any of these cases.

Update from Dec 20, 2021: RESOLVED - Feb 2020

Dealer noted that the serpentine belt tensioner was weak and not holding the drive belt tight and the drive belt was worn.

Dealer replaced serpentine belt tensioner and serpentine drive belt at my expense and the issue has not recurred as of Dec 2021.
