Sedona

  • 14,730 miles
The contact owns a 2005 Kia Sedona. While driving approximately 35 mph, the brakes made a loud squealing noise without the brake pedal being depressed. When the contact depressed the brake pedal, the brakes would not slow the vehicle down properly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the mechanic stated that the front brakes were past the safety standards and needed to be replaced. The brakes were replaced, but lasted only 14,000 miles. The brakes were supposed to last 30,000 to 40,000 miles. The contact researched information that stated the brake shoes appeared to be too light for the weight of the vehicle. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 14,730 and current mileage was 14,777.

The dealership informed the contact that the rotors should be replaced due to overheating and warping. The dealership was unable to determine the reason for the overheating and warping. The brakes, rotors, brake pads and brake shoes have been replaced four times. The vehicle continued to have the same problems approximately every 3 months. The vehicle currently has 30,000 miles.
