Sedona EX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 185,000 miles

I purchased a 2005 Kia Sedona EX in 2011with around 115,000 miles. About 4 months later it turned into a money pit! I probably put over $2,000.00 into it before the engine blew with only 138,000 miles on it. Because I couldn't afford another van I chose to put a rebuilt engine in it. Once again it turned into money pit, but none of it was engine related. About a month ago I was sitting at a light and it felt like someone rear ended me and the car shut off. I tried to restart it, but it wouldn't. I had to have it towed, the tow truck driver tried to start it, but it wouldn't, said it could be the timing belt. I had already replaced it twice and I didn't want to spend the money for another one. I had it towed to mechanic I use, after checking the car he said a rod had shot through the oil pan. I had no warning that there was anything wrong, no check engine light no oil pressure warning nothing. Needless to say I will not be putting another dollar into that money pit! The mechanic that put the rebuilt engine said Kia's are cheap to buy and expensive to fix, he wasn't kidding! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KIA!
