For years, YEARS I have dealt with this problem off and on. I lose throttle power as I am driving. The ESC light, ABS, and check engine come on and I have a rough idle. I have had this happen to me on the interstate doing 60mph and all of a sudden I lose power and am down to 0 in a matter of seconds with no warning to those behind me doing the same speed but my hazard lights. I have to quickly veer off the road to turn the vehicle off and restart it to fix the problem so I can go another few miles to have it do it again if too much pressure is applied to the gas pedal.
This is dangerous and I have talked to Kia only to be told they have never heard of the problem. Another dealership... the same damn thing after they fixed a recall. I tell them I find it hard to believe when the internet knows all about it with the same thing happening to others. I have had pedal sensors replaced, the throttle body replaced (which is the error code that pops up) and it is fine for a few months and then guess what... it happens again. What is it going to take to have this put on a recall... someone to get injured or worse... killed? I do not have the money to just run out and get another vehicle nor do I have the money to keep sinking into the same part that shouldn't keep having issues over 'n over.
