This is the fifth time this has happened. This has to be a defect! The first time this happened was in 2015 and I thought it was just time for new brakes. I had to replace front and rear brake pads, rotors, and calipers. The second time this happened was about five months later. I had to replace everything again but I remembered I used my emergency brakes to park on a hill and after I released them and started driving it immediately started scrubbing. I got everything done again.

Six months to the day almost this happened AGAIN! Mind you none of this is covered under warranty and we are paying for everything out of pocket! I found out my husband used my emergency brakes, The mechanic said the lever on the emergency brakes stayed down and it is what's scrubbing and it wore out the pads, rotors, and calipers. We used one mechanic shop the very first time, then we went to a different shop who repaired my brakes the 2nd and third time.

I got my brakes done again 4mos later which was March 2018 at a new repair shop. We decided to use parts from Napa this time. Previously we had been using Autozone parts and thought maybe the parts were just cheap. Now hear it is 5 1/2 months later this is happening again! My husband forgot and used the emergency brakes again and the car immediately started scrubbing once he released the emergency brakes. It even scrubs while you are driving.

It's in the shop today. It should be ready in the morning. I had to come report this because this has to be a defect. I should not be replacing every part pertaining to brakes this often. I should also be able to use my emergency brakes without fear that using them will cause another brake job! I am fed up with this Kia Sedona!!!
