problem #2

Oct 102016

Sedona LX 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,687 miles

Both mirrors involved. It started with driver side, then passenger, they immediately dive to the road, so they are useless. My dealer said it wasn't covered by warranty. Said he'd have to completely replace entire system, mirrors switch etc. price $1,600.00! I found if I just put switch in middle off position and manually adjust them I can survive. I had a similar problem on a Ford truck. There the dealer told me to just pop out the old switch, unplug it and replace with a new one. It worked cost $30.00! Took me an hour. I've been shopping. Found a likely replacement on Ebay for $28.00 with free shipping! I hope to find a friendly mechanic to tell me the key to disassemble the door trim so I can put the new switch in.

Sedona EX 3.5L,V6 (212ci)

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,000 miles

side mirrors-need to readjust from reverse

WHEN MY CAR IS SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO FORWARD, BOTH THE SIDE MIRRORS NEED TO BE READJUSTED. WHEN THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED, IT WAS JUST ONE SIDE. NOW IT'S BOTH SIDES.I ASKED THE DEALER IN JACKSON,TN. ABOUT IT AND HE SAID IT WOULD COST $110.00 DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND COULD BE MORE THAN THAT TO REPAIR IT. I COMPLAINED TO KIA ABOUT THIS AND THEY JUST SAID THAT EACH DEALER HAS THEIR OWN POLICY ABOUT DIAGNOSTIC FEES. THEY SAID IT NORMALLY IS WARRANTEED FOR 60,000 MILES. MY KIA HAS 111,000 MILES ON IT. I DID HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT IT EXPIRED AT 100,000 MILES. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I'M THE ONLY KIA SEDONA OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM.THE KIA COMPLAINT LINE SAID IT'S NOT BEEN A PROBLEM.
