I bought my Kia Brand new and really liked it. I have a lot of money stuck in the vehicle on repairs and took my vehicle in to my mechanic because I had a loud squeaking going on in the back rear on the drivers side. He called me and said I have a serious problem. The left upper control arm bracket on the rear axle to almost rusted thru and the right side is fine. He said that he called the dealership and they told him that they could not get this part???
After researching this I found out that this is not true that other dealers are fixing this problem and can get the part. According to my mechanic he said that this part has not been recalled yet because their hasn't been any serious injuries or any one who lost their lives????? He differently said that the dealer should replace this bracket at no cost. He was really upset when calling the dealership and they told him that they can't get this bracket. Which is bullshit.
I understand that you need to replace certain parts because of wear & tear but I take good care of my KIA and expect this problem to be resolve. I was planning on trading it in next year for a NEW KIA but if this problem isn't fix I can't even sell it because I can't put any in risk of losing their lives??? because I read on Kia Forum on posting that others were having the same problem and posted their complaints with the NHSTA. This is a safety concern and should not be ignored. I'm going over to the dealers tomorrow to get an answer.
