I took into a electrical repair specialist. over 40 years experience. He researched online, called in friends from Kia dealership. The check engine light came on briefly then went out, several codes came up referring to accelerator and electronic throttle controls. I have noted in other forums, there has not been a fix, even after replacing $3,000 modules and accelerator controls. Codes P2106, P1295, and P161B keep returning, but don't always turn on check engine light. I just erased the codes and will get rid of the car. It is unsafe to drive, in traffic with no accelerator controls, a couple of times the car even shut off. We waiting a few moments and it restarted and we drove home. The guys from Kia told that there is not a present fix, Kia does not recognize it as a problem. Wait until an executives wife has a problem, then it will get some attention.
