This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Kia dealer.
This car has had a hesitation problem from right after we purchased it new. Every time I took it to the dealer I was told they could not duplicate it nor was there any computer codes to show the problem. Everyone who drove this car noticed it but Kia. I contacted Kia Corp. and still no fix.
Then in March this car began not starting when you would push the start button. I had it in to the Kia dealer twice and got the same input, could not duplicate it nor was there any codes. So in other words they were not going to admit there was a problem and therefore no fix. I was told if it happens again to call them or bring it in. Once at their shop it did not start, but they claimed the main fuse was pulled and once it was put in place it started. So how did it start for me to drive it there? Their shop was the only ones who had access to the fuse panel. So again it was not fixed. Two days later it did it again.
I researched it on the internet and it is obvious the Kia Sorento does have a problem with both the hesitation and start issues. I am not going to have that amount of money invested in a vehicle that I can not depend to start and get me home. I traded it off so I could have a dependable car. I have owned my first and last Kia.

I just purchased my new Sorento on March 27 (less than 2 weeks ago). I get in it today and boom..won't crank. Battery seems fine all cables, etc. I end up having to call roadside assistance to come get the vehicle and tow it back to the Kia dealership. Turns out a fuse was blown..ok that's fine, but then it keeps blowing the fuses and this puzzles the dealership. They say they called the engineers or whatever and this is the 1st problem reported of this type. I won't find out anything until tomorrow and then it's not guaranteed it will be fixed anytime soon. I was so enjoying my first ever new vehicle and this is a huge disappointment. Thank God everything is covered under warranty. It's just really sad this car has less than 650 miles. I expected it to have some "kinks" as do most new things, but this is crazy.

Push button start will not engage, even tried bypass. All other electrical systems functioning. Being towed to dealership now.
Update from Jan 30, 2016: After 10 days I finally got my car back. They found the ECU (Electronic Control Unit went bad). had to order a new one from CA., I'm in NC. A few days later they get the new part and put it in. Now the car turns over but wont start, not getting any fuel. After more searching they found the wiring harness had shorted out from something chewing through several wires. Now this had to be ordered, again from CA. Finally got it all together and running like a champ. They said the ECU was under warranty, but the bill if I had to pay would have been about $1300. The wiring harness bill I did have to pay and was just over $1000.
