I had just replaced the Crank Shaft Position Sensor and the Barometric/IAT Sensor. I took it out for a test drive and things looked pretty good. Checked the heat and nope no heat...!@% *. Returned home and took a closer look and noticed the bottom radiator hose was cool to the touch. Thermostat was obvious so replaced that started it up and burped the coolant system and checked the heat, it was back! Took it out for a drive and DAMN it started overheating again. This time really fast, so I pulled over and after a descriptive words about how it's mama was a parking meter at the local roller coaster park, I called for a tow truck and took us home.
The next day I found the source, I thought, of the antifreeze leak. It was coming from the thermostat housing, I used the torque specification to tighten the bolts down but must have not been careful enough. Ordered a new water temperature control assembly and replaced it, flushed the coolant system, filled it up as required by the repair manual, started it up and was burping it and it the system kept sending air bubbles to the burping funnel at a a prodigious rate and wasn't slowing down, There was a rhythm to the bubbles arriving at the top of radiator where the burping device was connected, however, the amount of the bubbles increased and now they took on a milky white color the longer it Idled. Strange the heat was almost back on, it was starting to warm up. What the hell? Then I gave it a little gas and proverbial sh
t hit the proverbial fan, coolant came out of the burping funnel like a volcano and the heat was venting cold air and the temperature gauge was climbing fast fast. I shut it down. I now think it is time to go on the net search and find what I can.
