My alternator just went out at 81,000 miles, the belt looks like new. I haven't had a car in 20+ years that needed this replaced before 100,000 miles. I also found out the electronic steering is also ready to go out, which I see from reading is a design defect in the Sorento. Again, the first time I've had to have my power steering fixed on any car I've owned. So why no factory recall? I'm thinking of going back to Subaru or getting an F-150. This is my first Kia and the I chose it because they were supposed to have less repairs and recalls. Now, I know why. They refuse to have any recalls.
