My closed sunroof exploded while driving. Sounded like a gunshot...scared the hell outta me!! Temperature was about 65, overcast. 4-lane highway, light traffic. Speed was about 70 mph. Fortunately the sunroof shade was closed, so no glass fragments entered the cabin. It was like BANG!!! followed immediately by the sound of rushing wind and the rattling of glass fragments on the shade. Pulled over to investigate...found that well over half of the sunroof was gone...all from the center of the sunroof. The remaining sunroof glass was arched upward, as if the force of the blast came from within the car, so clearly the glass explosion was not the result of something impacting the sunroof from above. Will update with info regarding the repair as it becomes available.
