I purchased the car 6/23/15 ( this is a year old vehicle) and on test drive the salesman said that more salesmen hit their teeth on the steering wheel on this car. That did not register because he was driving and I had not yet. I drove car and said that the brakes were too tight, meaning that when the lightest touch of the foot on brake pedal the car STOPPED> no easy stop. I thought it was me..and I should not compare to my Hyundai Santa Fe. Weeks later the brakes did not change and I was being thrown forward and back when applying brakes and then releasing brake petal to go forward.
I returned car to Dealer and they said they replace the Master Cylinder....that did nothing. drove couple more weeks....could not drive this vehicle. Returned car again, Service Manager did not take car but said that the brakes would not change...that is the way Kia Soul brakes on the 2014 and 2015. I was never told that when I bought the car.
I went in to Dealer Manager and told my story and was told that Kia Soul brakes were like that. I asked to drive another Kia Soul and did.....2013 and the brakes were great.....they said I could trade this one in at a loss of $4,000 after 3 months and that was it. I went to another dealer to check out story and was told that Kia Soul 2014 and 2015 brakes are like that ....grab at the touch on the brake. Now what. I am in fear of being rear-ended or at worst stopping to avoid an accident and smashing my front teeth on the steering wheel.
