This is a sudden brake down. First time engine light comes on taken to dealer as it went into limp mode on way to work. Dropped it off at dealership, they say the engine needs replaced and not covered under warranty and not because of recall repaired in 2020. They want $9000 for a new engine. Why on a 2015 with only 181,000 kms is this car needing and ENGINE. I'm pissed that they are not fully explaining why its not covered, why KIA won stand behind their vehicles, why why why. They cannot expect the owners of their vehicles to be ok with this. This happened because of the recall that was done. Why the first time the engine warning light comes on is the engine done?

Kia refuses to fix a problem they have recalled. I continue to have an issue with the knock sensor and the engine falling into limp mode. Instead of trying to diagnose it, they continue to ask for money to even find out what is going on. I’m not paying to have you find out that you messed up while building this thing. You appear to know you did. Just fix it.
I have come to the Kia dealership in Mesquite Tex twice and they refuse to fix the problem. I can either pay them to fix the problem or drive the vehicle like this - they even have a recall for the engine and will not diagnose it free of charge. They have over 7 recalls on this vehicle and you still want me to pay for you to find out what’s wrong. They should be sued for this.

Driving down the highway, the engine light comes on and car won't respond to acceleration over 35mph.
Called a mechanic and was told about an update that came out and that is what caused it. Hooked up to OBD to get the code, looked it up and reset the code. What the heck Kia?

Don’t buy KIA / HYUNDAI , they manufacture garbage engines, just goggle to see their horror stories and save your money and yourself from humiliation, I am sharing my story , around 6 month ago I get P1326 code with flashing check engine light and reduced engine power ( common problem for garbage KIA/ HYUANDI engines) , at first dealer Torento Kia simply refused to even diagnose it ( as they already know that’s a filty mess) , they say I never took this car to their dealership so they will not work on it ( it was serviced at Kia dealership in Chatham).
I have to involve Kia Canada to force them to take it for diagnostics, first they try to give me a lollypop of changing knock sensor and reset code which does not work and code comeback again, then they claim to perform their so called fraudulent bearing clearance test which they also claim has passed so therefore they refuse to replace engine. Service manger ( Anil) who is so smart and Devious was saving himself all the times , I asked him there is a consensus that you cannot tell with accuracy that connecting rod bearing has any issue without opening engine and visual inspection then how you know that all 4 bearing and rods are fine , this moron never answered this question and dodge all times.
I ask them to give me the copy of test results which he also refuse to provide , I ask him who verify and certify that the test you performed is not fraudulent and equipment you use to perform this test is also tested and certified / verified , these criminals refuse to provide that also which clearly shows they are cheating with this test and are hiding information , also its there policy not to replace engine if car is purchased from 3rd party by lying and giving lame excuses.
