I noticed as I was driving down the highway yesterday that my seatbelt light located in the lower portion of my center console was flashing. My seatbelt was fine and I wasn't carrying a passenger. The seatbelt light on the dash was not on. Sometimes it would stop flashing and then start up again. I did have my GPS on my phone playing through my speakers and the phone itself was up on the dash. However my purse was on the seat... and from what I read in the other comments, apparently that makes a difference.

Today, the light was still flashing but I was listening to the radio. My purse was on the seat... Is my car telling me my purse is too heavy??? :)
