Soul S 2.0L

I change my own oil religiously in this car. The oil gets dirty very fast, I use Mobil One synthetic and Mobil one or K+N oil filters. Great car , but every 2 weeks I'm topping off the oil. ( about a half a quart) . Car gets driven about 70 miles a day ,5 days a week. Kia wasn't much help with the issue. The car does have over 70,000 miles now though.

A brand new Kia Soul. One day it developed a mild ticking noise and, not too long after that, died completely. It had to be pushed out of a lane of travel into a parking lot where we waited 3 hours for a tow truck on Kia's roadside assistance. Dealer says the motor was a quart and a half low on oil, and needs a whole new motor, which is on backorder and will take a month to arrive. Car has been thru two oil changes, both completed at a Kia dealership, and shouldn't be leaking oil for another 200,000 miles or so.

High oil consumption...I added 2 quarts of oil in 3500 miles..took 2 dealer...they changed the oil & started oil consumption test. I was to take car back @ 4500,5500,6500 miles. I took it back @ 4500 only 2 find out dealer did not start oil consumption test correctly & when they changed oil the dealer over filled . The test had to be re-started. With all the engine issues I have read about with the Kia cars this is a major concern. In another 400 miles I will return to dealer to check levels. I am not to add or check my oil during this test. I should not be having these issues with a new car.
