Problem remains unresolved by Kia. They first blamed it on my engine, said it was seized up due to lack of oil change. Wanted me to replace engine for $8,100. Engine was NOT seized up.

I had another garage fetch my car from Kia, they said oil was NOT sludgy, just low. They performed an engine flush & verified engine was not damaged in any way. It was throwing a code deep in the transmission.

It appears Kia used this as a reason to dodge fixing my transmission under warranty. * *Returned car to Kia to fix the original problem, the transmission slipping in lower gears. They said my car required a 30,000 mile transmission flush before they could move forward. Cost was $392. *I was called to pick up my car. They printed my paperwork and had me sign a copy that showed described the problem and service. I noticed this statement "This service qualifies for the FREE BG LIFETIME PROTECTION PLAN. Sub Total: $351.15" When I got in my car to drive away I noticed the check engine light was ON!!!!!! When I questioned the human who drove my car around to me, he showed me HIS COPY of the same paperwork I just signed except the top part describing the complaint was CROSSED OFF! He said "The customer only wanted the transmission flush, not this part that addresses what was actually going wrong with the transmission." WHAT?

I threw the keys back on their counter and told them they still need to fix my transmission that is covered under my warranty. *It's been nearly a week and the dealership is dodging every call! No one from service nor the General Manager is available to speak to me! WHAT? Are they getting their stories straight internally? Are they going to try to roll this repair over on the BG CVT Flush company now that I qualify for lifetime protection?

After the transmission was replaced at 5000 miles, I began hearing a noise when I accelerated from a stop.

I took it to dealer twice for this problem. No help, even though the mechanic heard the noise while I was in the car. The dealership denies ever hearing the "clunk" or "grind". This does not happen when I turn the "A" off. (The thing that turns engine off and on when idling.)
