The contact owns a 2005 Kia Sportage. The contact stated that while applying the brakes at approximately 30 mph, there was an abnormal grinding sound. The contact inspected the brakes and discovered that the brakes were too large for the front disk brakes. The contact replaced the brakes with the appropriately size brakes and replaced the rotors. The rear brakes were not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000....updated 04-03-13 the consumer stated the standard brake shocs wereto large to fit. The consumer purchased new rotors to fit them. Updated 05/10/2013
