problem #1

Sportage LX 2lin Line 4

Gear shift stuck, and would not move. Car would not start. Had AAA tow it to Kia Dealer. They replaced battery which had 32% of health per invoice. They changed oil and gasket. Service department said they were unable to verify my concern and that system was operating as designed with no defects in materials or workmanship. They also left my hood latch floating in air beneath the hood latch.

Problem continued when I drove home. I went back to dealer to fix hood latch and advise that gear shift problem still happened. They advised new starter but would have to order it and it would cost about $450.00. and would probably be the answer. One manager mentioned that there was a connection wire between the gear shift and the ignition but no service man paid attention to it. I drove home with several gear shift stops.

I drove out again to the dealer since the hood latch would not work and had the same gear shift problem on the way out. The dealer put the hood latch wire in the front of the car where it would work and said a new hood latch would cost about $300.00 and have to be ordered. They still did not pay attention to the gear shift problem. On the way home, the engine stopped several times and about a mile from home the car stopped and could not restart. AAA came out and towed me to my condo where it sits today 8/22/19 and will not start although the engine turns over and the gear shift remains locked.
