Working 2 hours from home I hear a knocking like noise coming from engine.. no warning lights were illuminated also I have a old scanner that is linked to my phone. I hear the noise and instantly pull to the side of the road. I then ran a scan with old and no issues found. I then shut the car off to look under the hood to be safe. 1 because I was in the middle of no where Kansas with no business anywhere near me....the next town was 30miles the opposite direction of home.
Well once I look under the hood it's smoking a little, and a large puddle of oil formed below my engine also looks as if what didn't end up in puddle sprayed allover passenger side under side of engine . Well now still no warning lights I check to see if my oil filter came loose or try and see where the oil had came from and wasn't successful I then had to walk in circles in order to contact someone for a tow but cell service in the area was poor. Ended up paying $100 to have car towed back to the town the opposite direction. Tried to start it the following day after a 2 hr journey home the first day from a acquaintance who I paid their gas bill to drive to pick me up and all the way home. The next day paid gas and for persons time to get the car on a trailer and all the way home. So once arrive to put on trailer purchase a new filter and oil so I could attempt to start however when attempted the noise of knocking was worse then when I shut it off the day before. So instantly stopped attempting to start and relied on manual wrench to get vehicle on trailer . I had it inspected by a local mechanic today who advised me the piston rods were shot and the engine is ruined. Needs replaced.
