Sportage LX 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

Wife bought the car brand new last year and on the first of the year the car started acting like the transmission was slipping. My problem is identical to another complaint. You can be driving along between 35 and 45 and the car acts like it gets hung in neutral, because it will just rev up, but you can tell there is no pull from the transmission. After the rpms go up, it will go into gear and everything is fine. We have had at our dealership numerous times but they can't find anything wrong. They keep trying to replicate the problem - however it does it very sporadic. We haven't been able to replicate the problem. The car is up to date on all the service bulletins, but so far nothing has solved the problem.

Update from Aug 13, 2018: The problem started mid 2017. It's never acted up on interstate however, except 1 time. It mainly seems to do it on side roads and speeds seem to be between 35 and 45 with steady pressure on the accelerator. Just enough pressure to keep it at posted speed limit. There's been no check engine light that's come on.
