problem #1

Sportage EX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,500 miles

While entering a highway gave it some gas to merge onto road. Engine sputtered car jerked and would not go over 40mph. A exit was 1/4 mile down road so a tractor trailer was in the only lane I could merge onto and almost rear ended us as driver swerved around us. I took first exit and drove slowly home as it had no pickup and service light came on to call KIA service.

When home I called them and they said to bring it in which I did. Mastria KIA in Rayham MA had car for over a week before I was told its a known engine problem and will at earliest be fixed (getting a new engine) which would be July 2019. Heard from service last week 4/25 that it was not a engine problem some sort of wire was replaced and we could have car back. Picked it up and it WAS fine.
