ABS, hill decent control (hdc) and traction control (tc) warning lights came on simultaneously. Web search indicates that a lot of people with 1999 and 2000 land rovers have this problem. Land Rover says there is no recall.

2000 Land Rover Discovery II. 1st I had the service engine soon light on and after spending almost $600 to extinguish the light, I drove the vehicle for (4) days, now all the lights are on. I checked on a Land Rover forum and they said the ABS / tc lights are an ongoing problem with this vehicle and there should be a recall. Everyone is spending a fortune. My Land Rover just came out of warranty (of course!).

Land Rover disco 2 2000 ABS light comes on, and the ABS becomes inoperative. I did speak with a mechanic in my province and they have a lot of problem with this part they changed many of them charging the clients. There is a website specialized on Land Rover and many many many have the same problem. Yes it is a default in my point of view.

No noticable events leading to failure... ABS / hdc / trac failure on a 2000 Land Rover discovery series II. Traction control, ABS and hill descent control do not function or function at a diminished level. Three lights remain lit on the dash. I do not know what can be done to resolve this unsafe and unexeptable problem.

Various warning lights activated including ABS light, indicating failure of the systems on my 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. Privately retained mechanic identified the ECU as the problem and also located a recall notice regarding this problem. Local Land Rover dealership stated that the recall was not valid and that "they put these on the internet all the time." Land Rover North America was contacted via E-mail and telephone message and has not responded. I purchased the vehicle new and the only recall I have recieved concerned the accelleration cable shortly after I purchased the vehicle in 2000. Apparently the local dealership finds NHTSA recalls as "things on the internet" not requiring any action. This is probably to be expected from our local dealership. However, the non-response from Land Rover North America was unexpected.
