The contact owned a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power and smoke filled the cabin. After stopping the vehicle, flames appeared under the hood. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200,000.
