About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Purchased vehicle in July it has been looked at and repaired 8 times. Twice to the dealer, the second time they told me it had a cracked engine block and would cost 10,000 to replace the engine(that's what I paid for the car). The first time it was there for an inspection they told me in 2002 they replaced the radiator and 2005 it was there for overheating issues. The coolant fluid would not stay in and kept leaking. It constantly overheated and when I drove it off the lot, before I even got home the check engine light came on. It's being held at a repair shop that the dealer took it to because I can't afford to pay them to fix what they say is wrong with it and I thought the dealer was going to fix it. I myself have spent over 1,000 on it in repairs and have been riding the bus for 3 weeks now.

I have a 2000 Land Rover discovery, which I love and despite that my vehicle has been in the shop many times, (almost every few months) I still love my truck, so I bought my husband one also, he has a 2001 Land Rover, but just recently I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership. And I was told my engine sized and I have to replace the heads or the complete engine, this was all caused from a coolant leak in my throttle body, and the vehicle never gave a warning that my engine was running to hot or to cold, that is why there is a gage on the dash to provide this information. And now my husband has a 2001 Land Rover discovery and he is have the same problems, vehicle only has 79,000 miles on it. And no-one at Land Rover will help. I am so very upset.
