Land Rover/Range Rover does not have remote start on the key fob, but instead proudly boasts of their InControl App. "InControl Remote provides information on your vehicle and enables you to interact with it remotely. Compatible with most AndroidTM and Apple iOSĀ® smartphones, this service allows you to lock/unlock the doors, remotely preheat/precool the vehicle using the climate control function and remote engine start, or find your Land Rover faster by using the Beep and Flash feature." A quick look at the App reviews or an online google search of this product indicates this simply is not the case. The App is unreliable at best and unsafe at worst. It absolutely does not operate as marketed. The App is defective and Land Rover is well aware and has done nothing to correct this. I have been locked outside of my own Range Rover multiple times in various locations. Today, there was a winter gale warning of Real Feel 17 degrees. I started my car about five minutes before exiting. The App showed that my car started. When I was about one minute from my car, I opened the App to unlock my vehicle. It said it was unlocked. I physically saw the side mirrors on my car close and heard the doors lock as I was approaching. The App continued to show that my car was running and unlocked. I stood outside the car in the freezing weather (note that I could SEE my key fob inside the car) waiting for the App to refresh so I could unlock. I took a screenshot of the App indicting my car was unlocked and a video of me trying the handle on my car at this time. After approximately 5 minutes, I started walking back to the restaurant. The continued to try to use the App. I emailed remote@jaguarlandrover.com. Finally, it showed that I could lock my already locked car, so I locked it and unlocked it. I walked back out. It was not unlocked. I called Roadside Assistance for help. She was in the process of filing for someone to come unlock my car, when I tried the App again 10 min later. It unloc

At appx 115pm I had lunch at the millburn diner. I got into my vehicle at appx 2pm in the parking lot of the diner at 72 essex street in millburn NJ. I pressed the button to start my car. I looked back and shifted from park to reverse in motion. I slowly moved backwards in the vehicle and I experienced a sudden involuntary acceleration backwards and my vehicle was jolted by a telephone pole. I braked and went to put the car into drive to shift forward and the car suddenly accelerated forward involuntarily with speed. I instinctively tried to stop the car with the brakes and by pressing the park button to stop the vehicle. The vehicle ran into a metal railing guarding an outdoor dining area. There us a 3rd party witness to this sudden acceleration.

This car does not have a spare tire. I was unable to get a flat tire repaired in the dark of the night after hitting a pot hole. This is a safety concern and I don't understand why any car would be allowed on the road without a spare tire!
