ES 350 ES 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,000 miles

A host of things have gone wrong. It was nice until I got to 100,000. The alternator tensionor, stabilizer bar,cv joints, brake calipers, brake rotors. real main gasket leak, steering leak, steering pinion leak, water pump, idler arm, transmission leaks. I just didn't know toyota made such bad cars. I have switched to German cars now. I don't drive fast, did all maintenance and changed oil regularly. I have even forgotten some things that have been done the last 2 years

ES 350

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Engine light and VSC light came on on the way to work. Drove to work and tightened the gas cap. Whiole driving back lights came on after sometime. After reaching home did not drive anywhere except to take to dealer workshop. Took to the dealership next day. They diagnosed as water pump leaking and replaced. Then they called to say engine won't start.

After the weekend they called to say engine head is blown. Needs new heads. Quoted cost is $7143. This is a for a car which is just 60K and 7 years. Lexus corporate case manager refused to help. Gone are the days when customer satisfaction was the goal of Toyota (and Lexus). They are a mediocre car maker. Will record this in my Consumer Reports annual auto survey also.
