I ultimately never had this issue fixed. It occurred in combination with a series of other highly problematic issues. The issue was reported as being very dangerous by the dealership, so I ultimately sold the car for cheap.

This is singlehandedly the issue that finally made me get rid of the car. It was too big of a problem and I knew that the car was going to continue to have problems into the future.
