GS 300 GS300

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I keep my oil changed on time all the time, I never really get to drive this car much. I have an es300 I drive everyday, anyway I drive the car in question to my moms house which about a 120 mile round trip. On my way home the oil light comes on, I pulled off the highway and checked the oil and it was low. I had to put two quarts in just to be back at the right level. So I wanted to see the rate I was losing between oil changes, turns out I am burning a quart of oil every 500 miles which is insane for me. I have no leaks, no smoke, no discolored oil or antifreeze. There is no recall on this which is wild to me considering I have seen thousands of post on this issue and still no recall??????!!!!!!!!

I don't know what to do at all and the only people that can help (LEXUS CORP) wont help. I have own 6 Lexus's and there will not be a 7th not after this. Its sad when a Corporation is doing well as Lexus finds loop holes in there own polices to avoid being responsible for there engineering mistakes just flat out sad. Then have the nerve to want to call there self superior on all levels of the car industry.

GS 300

This vehicle burns oil extremely fast in between oil changes. I used to go to the Lexus dealership for oil changes but this got to be a bit costly. I either changed the oil myself or went to a discount oil service bay to save money. I later heard that this model of Lexus vehicle burned oil because of bad rings. Lexus put out a fix for the problem but as a mechanical problem. If you didn't complain to them about it and they checked it you never got to have them fix it because it is a costly mechanical issue. It would be too many cars they would have to work on.
