the dashboard is melting and is sticky. i originally thought this was my problem and never mentioned to Lexus when i brought in for recalls or maintenance. its dangerous to drive and should be a safety recall as when the sun shines i, the reflection is blinding and i can not see in front of me. I would consider this a safety issue and it should be a recall.

My dashboard is soft, sticky and shiny, you cannot see to drive. Some day there will be an accident due to this. Contact my local Lexus dealership when the recall first came out and was told they stopped replacing the dashboard, so mine was never fixed. Lexus should cover all dashboards with this issue before someone gets hurt.

I have a 2007 Lexus IS250 and it has had a sticky dashboard for a long time. Recently, it has gotten worse since the heat has caused it to melt and is sticky shiny. If I attempt to wipe anything off of it, it will get stuck. Horrible design and needs to be fixed. They need to extend their bulletin to address this problem. It is not fair for the consumer. After this incident, i will never buy another Lexus again.

Car was brought in to Rahal Lexus In Mechanicsburg PA in 2015 and wanted dash looked at , said there was nothing they could do without replacing it at the time I didn't know about the extended warranty issues. I called now again, which now its worse and was declined cause its expired and dealer said it was my fault cause I put my cell phone at times on my dash. WTF!!!! Expired, I complained in 2015!!! I called Lexus and they talked to my GF and said there was nothing they could do.

I just purchased a 2007 IS 250 for my son. I mean JUST... got it yesterday. Today was a sunny day and boom, bad glare. I thought the detail guys just used too much armor all. Gooey, sticky mess. Also you barely touch the upper door panels and the material flakes away or leaves a gouge. What the hell? Lexus won't fix this because we are the 3rd owners? What if the previous owners were TRYING to get Lexus to fix it?

The front panel of my car was melting and so was the interior front and back doors.

I was finally called in March to have the dashboard replace and said I would be called again to go back to have the interior doors replaced that was 4 months ago, when called part have not been orderd and probably would take much longer time for them to received them.

Meanwhile... the side door will stain anything that comes in contact with it, if its clothes it's ruins if it skin its sticky and have to scrub to have it come off!!! Meanwhile, now theres a nother recall whic has to do with the front passenger airbag, I was told that no parts have been received and said not to have anyone sit in the front seat! beacuse of risk of exploding!!! Why aren't they moving faster to fix the problem, before piling on another recall on top of the recall!!!???

Dash and door panels appear to have same problem. Leaves residue on hands when touched and causes additional damage. The shiny residue on dash reflects on windshield causing a sight obstruction in the sun or when headlights hit the windshield. Mechanically the car is sound but the issue with the dash is a saftety concern and it is also affecting the value of the car.

Not happy about this at all.

Dashboard and door panels, and all interior black trim is melting and discoloring, dash and door panels are very sticky and gets very shinny and slimy from heat and sun and adds an interior glare on the windshield causing poor vision out the windshield. I have called the Lexus Dealership several times and I am told I am on a list to have the dash and interior panels replaced but it is about a 18 to 20 month wait time. My car has over 103,000 miles, not sure if I can keep the car in good running order for almost another year. I am stick since if I trade my car with a melting interior other car dealerships will severely drop the value of my car for a trade in because other car dealerships wont be able to re-sale my car with a melting dash and interior.

WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. THE CAR IS BASICALLY UNDRIVABLE HERE IN FLORIDA DUE TO THE STICKNESS OF THE INTERIOR. LEXUS OF ORLANDO PUT US ON A WAITING LIST FOR THE PARTS. WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER TWO YEARS NOW. EVERYTIME WE CALL THEY SAY THEY ARE SLOWLY GETTING THE PARTS IN. WE HAVE MOVED 7 SPOTS FROM #164 TO #157 IN 4 MONTHS. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. THE LACK OF SERVICE HERE WILL HAVE ME NEVER BUYING ANOTHER LEXUS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE OTHER HIGH END AUTO MAKERS OUT THERE THAT TREAT THERE CUSTOMERS MUCH BETTER AND PRODUCE A MUCH BETTER QUALITY PRODUCT.

Just wanted to let people know that that there is a RECALL for the dashboards of 2007 Lexus IS 250. the melting problem is extremely bad so to avoid a class action law suit they are recalling models with this problem. I don't have the recall number now , but the dealer is fixing it. we are checking to see if the doors are covered too. It should be, they are made of the same stuff. I will try to keep you all posted.

This is a copy of my complaint to the NHTSA. Anybody that is having this issue needs to file a complaint.

THE DASHBOARD OF MY 07 LEXUS IS 250 HAS BEEN OOZING A GREASY UNKNOWN CHEMICAL. ASIDE FROM BEING UNSIGHTLY AND DIRTY, THIS STICKY DASHBOARD POSES A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. ON SUNNY DAYS, VERY COMMON IN S.FLORIDA, THE CHEMICAL OOZE PRODUCES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT IMPAIRS THE DRIVER FROM HAVING A CLEAR UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW OF THE ROAD. I ALMOST STRUCK A PEDESTRIAN DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE WAS UNSEEN BY ME DUE TO THE BLIND SPOT CREATED BY THE GLARE. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. BEING ABLE TO CLEARLY VIEW THE ROAD IS ESSENTIAL IN CONDUCTING A VEHICLE SAFELY. RESEARCH NEEDS TO BE CONDUCTED TO SEE IF THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE EFFECTIVE AND SAFE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS IF A SLIGHT GRAZE BY A FINGERNAIL ON THE DASHBOARD CAUSES IT TO BREAK OFF, HOW WILL THE IT REACT WITH THE SPEED AND POWER THAT AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WILL HAVE. ANOTHER SAFETY CONCERN, THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED IS THE TOXIC IMPACT THAT THIS CHEMICAL CREATES, ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO THE HEAT OF A PARKED CAR IN THE SUN. IS ANYBODY INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT THAT THIS DEFECTIVE MATERIAL MAY HAVE ON THE HEALTH OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF, AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO THIS UNKNOWN SUBSTANCE ON A DAILY BASIS? THIS MATERIAL IS REACTING SO UNEXPECTEDLY BY FALLING APART, HOW DO WE KNOW IT IS NOT TOXIC? I 'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS LUXURY VEHICLE WHO HAS LESS THAN 60,500 MILES. LEXUS AND THE DEALER, OFFERED 25% OFF TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD AND DOORS. IT IS DISAPPOINTING AND TROUBLESOME TO REALIZE THAT LEXUS DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS SAFETY AND QUALITY ISSUE IS DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS AND NOT CAUSED BY REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR. WHAT CRITERIA DOES LEXUS USE TO DECIDE WHO GETS THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT REPAIRED FOR FREE AND WHO PAYS $3000? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY FLOOR MATS HAVE OUTLIVED MY DASHBOARD AND DOOR PANELS?

I bought a 2007 IS250 Lexus. When I opened/closed the door, the material stays on my hand. The dashboard melts. I called Lexus, they said they cannot do anything as it is out of warranty and because I bought it from an action. These cars are not cheap. They should make this a recall.

LEXUS WON'T HONOR THAT THEY MESSED UP BY PLACING MATERIAL IN THE 2007 250 THAT WHEN THE SUN HITS IT THE DASHBOARD MELTS. TOM WILLIAMS DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM STATING THEY HAVE SEEN MANY VEHICLES SAME MAKE&MODEL WITH THE EXACT PROBLEM. YET THEY REMAIN NOT TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I'M AFRAID THAT IS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS CAUSING A GLARE ON FRONT WINDOW WHICH PREVENTS YOU FROM SEEING CLEARLY OUT THE WINDOW TO DRIVE. THINKING ABOUT CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY
