sunroof glass exploded

While driving on the freeway in Northern California at mid day on 12/23/16, I heard a huge explosion!!! I thought someone had fired a gun at me!!!!! I almost panicked but happened to look up (my sunroof window was closed, but the hatch was open to let the light in) and saw a huge hole in the glass!!! I immediately closed the hatch to prevent glass from coming into the car. When I pulled over and stopped to get out to look, I noticed that the glass had blown out not in. There was no glass in the car at all! It freaked me out!!!! There was absolutely no other damage to the car - just the shattered sunroof. I have been upset ever since!

I called the dealer and was told it would be around $1000 to fix.
