The power steering goes out leaving driving a serious hazard. I have read this Is not uncommon in this model. Also, I was informed that it could lock up completely. This Is a serious safety issue yet there Is not a recall. The car Is in motion when this happens on both city and highway.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Is 350. While driving 35 mph, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. Sewell Lexus in fort worth, Texas requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic as having squib circuit failure inside of the air bag, which caused the SRS indicator to illuminate under code: B1861. The independent mechanic stated that in the event of a crash, the squib circuit failure could potentially disable the air bags. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 141,896.

The dashboard Is cracked, melted, and sticky. I had to cover it up with a new material for cosmetic reason. Also, value of the car decreased by $1000 dollars for the damage. Second, there Is a lot of creaking in the car. Third, the alternator died at 120,00 miles.

My 2007 Lexus IS250 only has 44,000 miles. The navigation console stopped responding, and this was verified as a defect by a Toyota dealership. The result Is that in addition to gps and radio functions not working, the critical and life dependent features of air conditioning and heating also can't be controlled. These features are vital when living in climates that have below freezing weather in winter, and extreme heat in summer. The cost of the repair Is $2900, and Lexus was unwilling to pay for this repair. Clearly this Is a material defect, and this Is occurring to thousands of other Lexus/Toyota owners as noted by online comments.

The aux cable to plug a 3.5mm jack from audio headphone / speaker cable does not work. It plays music only in the front right door speaker, does not play anywhere else. All of the speakers work fine when on radio or cd mode but the aux cable seems to be malfunctioning. I have searched this problem online and spoken with others who have the same model of Lexus (IS350 2007). It is a common occurrence. It would be great to get this fixed. Thank you.

Melting dashboard - can simply stick a fingernail in it and it leaves an indentation. I noticed that others have complained of this problem also. It's also very sticky anywhere along the leather on the doors and dashboard. Also, my car Is only 7 years old and a year ago the touch screen went out. I cannot use the gps at all. Apparently the cost Is about $1,000 to fix this. Seems rediculous that this would happen after only 7 years. This should be guaranteed for life!

The headlights will stop working intermittently while driving. At times only the driver side headlight will not work, but at other times both will not work. Many times rotating the headlight control on the steering wheel left stem to the off position and then turning the control back to the on position will cause the headlights to illuminate. Other times I must pull to the side of the road, turn off the vehicle, and then turn on the vehicle for the headlights to work. This Is a very dangerous situation as it occurs at night.

Headlights randomly turn off at night while driving. Replaced bulbs already and have noticed many Lexus of this year have the same problem. Have to flick lights off and back on to turn on again.

As I just exited the highway and pulled into the parking lot of my work, the steering wheel suddenly froze. I was about to park in an open spot, so the speed of the car was very low. As I was reversing into the spot, the steering wheel jammed and would not turn. I tried shutting down and restarting many times but the wheel was stuck, and required enormous amount of power to turn ever so slightly. The car was towed to the Lexus dealer. They were also unable to turn, and upon their review, they said that there was a leak in timing cover, which accumulated over time and went into the harness of the ECU and burned the ECU, which in-turn jammed your steering. There was no physical leaks on the bottom, and the dealer also confirmed that but said it was an internal leak, you would not see it on the floor. The car Is still at the shop and only after replacing the ECU they will check for steering assembly. The explanation provided by them Is not very adequate and if it Is true then there seems to be a serious flaw in design that any unseen leak from timing cover could cause your steering to freeze unexpectedly, while your vehicle Is in motion.

The speedometer indicating needle went black along with the tachometer needle not allowing me at night to see my existing speed. There Is no contrast whatsoever. Lexus of silver spring told me this was a $1400 fix. I believe this to be a safety issue due to the fact that there are many more concerns on this subject from my on line investigation of many people with the same car. I believe this to be a true safety concern. I am willing to bring my car to you as proof of my concern. I need resolution and consideration from the dealer on this matter. Your response Is seriously awaited.

My car, Lexus Is 350, has a condensation problem inside the headlight housing on both sides. I bought the car approximately a year ago. The problem first occurred to my car about 2 weeks ago. One of the headlights are permanently out. Because of the water, not only the headlight but ballast and the ECU are failed to operate properly. It is a manufacturer defect as even the dealership and the Lexus customer satisfaction center admitted. However, Lexus refused to provide the full service. They offered to provide $1,000 when the total fixing cost will be around $1,500 for one side. I am also aware of the class action that are going on for rx from 2004 - 2009 model. As they are suffering from the same problem, many Lexus owner are having this issue. This is certainly a manufacturer defect but they are refusing to provide the service because my manufacturer warranty has expired. Now, it is obviously dangerous to drive at night due to their mistake. I strongly feel that it is not the matter of factory warranty, but the business ethics and the responsibility of Lexus. Since the water damaged the ECU, cause the problem that there shouldn't have been, they need provide full service for their customer. I am filing my complaint due to achieve the right as a customer, please take a close look at the issue.
