At 70k miles mark, the car burned a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Eventually the passenger side cat went bad. Lexus dealership only suggested to replace cat without diagnosing upstream causes despite being pressed for analysis. Replaced cat at approx 150k miles mark, only for it to clog again in less than 6 months. Clogged cat caused engine back pressure. Returned to Lexus dealer, who then recommended a laughable 18k repair of engine or a trade in value of less than 10% of purchase price. Opting to replace engine with a more trusted and reputable location. Will never purchase another car from Lexus again -- their certified cars, no matter the price, seem to be only worth 6 years.

Just as in the current Class Action Lawsuit over the Toyota/Lexus Oil Consumption Defect, the engine in this car is also affected.

Toyota knew of this engine defect but did not inform customers. Also, they refuse thus-far to do a recall or stand behind their product.

These Lexus IS 350s should be added to a Class Action, or included in a Recall effort. This is a dangerous issue and severely impacts the value of these vehicles.
