The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and found it harder to depress than normal. The contact had to use an excessive amount of pressure to apply the brakes and the vehicle hesitated before coming to a stop. In addition, several unknown warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and there was a continuous beeping noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

My 2007 LS460 Lexus with 100K miles has a failed brake actuator assembly ascertained by a Lexus and Toyota dealer. This was a confronted problem by Toyota for failure of the O rings within the assembly. The actuator abruptly went out while on the highway at 70mph causing brake fluid to not go to the right calipers. There is a recall for 150 K mi or 10 years, whichever occurs first. However. My Lexus was out of warranty in may, 2018 and they will not offer any help whatsoever because my warranty expired aprox. 1 year ago.

While driving, the navigation monitor screen has gone black and reset 10 to 15 times. When this happened, on 2 to 4 occasions, a red "electric power steering warning light" comes on for a few seconds and the steering hesitates. This happened while driving on I-5 at 60+ mph. It didn't happen after I slowed down to less than 50 mph.

Brake malfunction error was shown on the speedometer screen with five lights (ABS, vsc, brake, traction control light, and warning light). The brake pedal became very soft and the vehicle came to abrupt stops. On other occasions the brake pedal became hard as a rock and also made the vehicle come to a jerking stop. Pulsation and noise were also noted. Dealer advised that the brake actuator part (44050-50110) was the cause of the malfunction and noise. Lexus tech and advisor noted that this is a a very common issue on this particular model - 2007 LS460.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus LS460. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning. The contact stated that after the vehicle was switched into the neutral position, the brakes responded properly. Upon examination, the contact discovered that the brake rotors were extremely hot and had a burning odor coming from them. In addition, the contact stated that the check ABS and check vsc warning lights illuminated with an error message stating to park immediately and contact the dealer. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake pump and the brake actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

For the past several years I have followed the discussions in the clublexus.com forums, especially the LS460, because of my special interest in a wind noise problem that affects many of the '07-'09 models. There is a solution for most of the wind noise problems here: www.clublexus.com/forums/LS460-ls460L-and-ls600H/506217-instructions-for-the-jmcraney-wind-noise-fix.html there have been many reports of phantom dead batteries and reports mostly indicate that the only repair was to replace the battery. I have long maintained that this is mostly related to a failure of the exterior-lights auto-off feature to do its job. In one of the recent discussion threads a very astute owner has showed us one of the major causes of this problem is a failure of the switch on the driver's door that senses when the door is open. While a discharged battery is a problem, my major concern is that this condition compromises the safety feature that provides a warning when the car is being left with the engine running. Another safety feature that is affected is the cancellation of the hold feature which is normally canceled when the driver's door is opened.
