LS 400 400 v8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,600 miles

ON THE HIGHWAY 374 MILES FROM HOME WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID STARTED GUSHING OUT. RATHER THAN LEAVING MY CAR IN A STRANGE TOWN AT NIGHT. I WENT AND PURCHASED 25 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND STOPPED EVERY 15 MILES TO FILL TRANSMISSION (APPROX 25 TIMES). I KNOW LEXUS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST, AND I WAS SHOCKED. NO CAR SHOULD SUDDENLY START LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID LIKE THAT. THIS IS MAJOR A MAJOR JOB, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS TO BE REMOVED TO DROP TRANSMISSION. IF YOU ARE BUYING ONE OF THESE CARS, CHECK FOR TRANSMISSION LEAKS FIRST.
