Suddenly developed a vacuum type noise each time I press the brake pedal. Dealer told me it was the brake actuator and would be over $2,000 to replace, Assured me that the problem would not affect the performance of the brakes.
The sound is irritating. Local mechanic said since part is only available from Lexus, his cost for repair would be $3,800 to replace. The parts cost from Lexus would be $2200 as that price recently doubled approximately.
Seems totally absurd.
Why isn't Toyota standing behind their products? Why such poor engineering in the first place, Reminds me of the exorbitant cost to replace a front headlight, where they had to remove the bumper assembly at a cost over $1,000.

In October 2020, the brake system warning lamps started to intermittently illuminate and then stayed on permanently whenever the vehicle was running. I did an internet search and found out that Lexus had issued a Warranty Enhancement Program to extend the warranty coverage for the Brake Actuator Assembly on my car.
Upon contacting my local dealer and the Lexus Corporate Office, I was informed that that the extended coverage had expired because it was more than ten years from date of first use. I have owned this vehicle since March of 2016 and have registered myself as the owner on the Lexus website. They had all of the information necessary to contact me about this problem and never did. Since this is a SAFETY RELATED ISSUE, I feel that Lexus should cover the cost of the repair which I'm told is approximately $4000.00.
