Car warning light while driving said “check tires, consult dealerâ€. Looked but all tires were OK. Could not turn car off at destination. Eventually was successful but then car put itself in "accessory mode". Could not turn off "accessory mode". Started car and then was able to turn everything off. Got out of car but it would not lock. Left car unlocked and went about my business at destination.
When I returned to car 4 hours later saw “low battery warning†and the car was again in "accessory mode", which it apparently had been for the 4 hours I was gone, thus causing the "low battery warning". Could not open trunk by switch inside car or by latch on trunk. Car lights came on automatically because car was in "accessory mode" and it was now night time. Security Dept. at my destination was able to open trunk and turn off lights, but could not get car out of "accessory mode".
Called AAA and they said the battery was dead and one of the tire gauges was not working. AAA cleaned a little corrosion off the battery terminals, recharged the battery, said the alternator was OK. Drove home and the next day car seemed fine. Took car to dealer, received free loaner, and they kept car one week to test. Tests showed only that one tire gauge was defective. Replaced that and no further issues as of 3-13-2018. Unusual events for no discovered reason but took about 8 hours out of my lifetime.
