The safety issue our car has is delayed acceleration. This is a very concerning safety hazard. After reading many online forums, there are many other '09 Ls owners experienced the same problem. We have brought our car to the Lexus dealership a few times and they have not been able to properly fix or even diagnose the cause. There are no lights on the dashboard indicating where the problem lies. All we have been told is that it's in the knock sensor. We have only been told that Lexus has designed the knock sensor in such a way that a check engine light or code will not be given. This is not good for us as the customer. We believe this is a urgent recall problem that Lexus must own and repair. This is a mayor safety hazard that has potential to put the lives of my family or others at stake.

The 2009 Lexus LS460 has the same melting dash and door rests as the 2007/2008 Lexus ls 460. It is unsafe to have the dashboard as shiny as it is when it melts. Melting dash and arm rests. After multiple class action law suits were filed, Lexus approved replacement of of the dash and door panels on 2007 models of the Lexus LS460 and some 2008 models. However for some reason the 2009 Lexus ls 460 was not approved for replacement. The 2009's definitely have the same problem. The dash, arm rests on all four doors, lower dash surround, glove box, sides of the console, B pillars, pretty much all surfaces that do not have hard plastic or leather have this material used. This material degrades with heat and when touched often breaks, chips, slices away very easily, think of hot tar starting to cure and put your arm in it on the door rest. That is the best way to describe this inferior material that Lexus used in these vehicles and many more. Lexus needs to extend the covered years of these cars for replacement. New in 2009 this car cost $70,000, to have this problem from this caliber of vehicle from Lexus is absolutely ridiculous. Lexus needs to own up to their mistake fully and take care of this problem or lose many loyal Lexus customers that have spent thousands over the years for brand loyalty to Lexus. If this does not get repaired this will be the last Lexus that I ever purchase.

Several interior parts are melting. Lexus is aware and authorized a repair in certain models, but they have not issued a recall to stand behind their product. I need your assistance in forcing the issue. Finally, I just remembered to google this today and was very surprised by what I discovered.
